Upcoming webinar - Fast-Track Patent Examination Avenues in Korea: What Technology and Innovation-Driven Businesses Should Know

The EU-RoK Intellectual Property Action, an EU-funded project implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), is organising a webinar for EU businesses in technology- and innovation-driven sectors that are expanding to or operating in the Republic of Korea, and IP practitioners.

The webinar will present the fast-track patent examination procedures available under Korean law and practice through which applications may benefit from accelerated or prioritised examination. This will include domestic routes, as well as the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) and PCT-PPH, where applicable. It will also clarify the circumstances in which such treatment may be requested.

In addition, the webinar will explain the practical implications of each route, including the relevant categories of applicants, technologies or situations concerned, the scope of accelerated treatment, the main procedural requirements, and the expected or estimated examination timelines.
