Working Group Session for the preparation of a ‘MERCOSUR and Chile IP Case-Law Compendium’

This workshop is one in a series of working group sessions tailored to judges and aimed at contributing to the compilation of a compendium of relevant IP case-law studies from the MERCOSUR countries and Chile. This collaborative effort between the IP Enforcement actors of these countries will serve as the foundation of the ‘AL-INVEST Verde IPR Protection Network’ while fostering collaboration and information exchanges among judges in the field of industrial property. Previous sessions took place in Jamaica and Paraguay, which addressed different types of IP rights.

Seminar for judges and magistrates on intellectual property and creative industries in the digital era

The ‘Seminar for judges and magistrates from the Mercosur countries and Chile on intellectual property (IP) and creative industries in the digital era: challenges and solutions in the light of recent cases in Latin America and the European Union’ is being organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay through the National Directorate of Industrial Property (DNPI).

Conference on regional mechanisms for the administration of IP rights

To mark the project closure at the end of April 2024, the CARIFORUM Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation project (CarIPI),  organised a final conference on regional mechanisms for the administration of intellectual property rights (IPRs) at the EUIPO in Alicante on 15-16 April 2024.

The 2-day event provided an opportunity for the CARIFORUM intellectual property offices to discuss the different regional mechanisms for administrating IPRs with the aim of finding a way forward and strengthening regional cooperation in the IP field.
