Contest winners explore design practices and IP with leading furniture designer

Winners of the Creative ASEAN Furniture Design Contest 2018 learned about design practices and protecting their intellectual property during a two-day internship with acclaimed designer Kenneth Cobonpue at his studio in Cebu City, Philippines, on 7-8 February. Organised by ARISE+ IPR, participants gained insights from practical exercises on the design process and use of materials, production of mockups, as well as branding and protecting their trademarks, copyright and designs.

Design contest winners attend internship with leading furniture design studio

The winners of the Creative ASEAN Furniture Design Contest participated in an internship programme with acclaimed designer Kenneth Cobonpue in Cebu City, Philippines, on 7-8 February. Organised by ARISE+ IPR, the internship provided an opportunity for the winners to hone their skills and learn the techniques of a world-renowned designer and gain a better appreciation of the importance of protecting their designs.

Lao PDR

ARISE+ IPR delivers Singapore Treaty assessment study to Lao PDR

An assessment study on the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks (STLT) for Lao PDR has been undertaken by the ARISE+ IPR project in close collaboration with the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology, of Lao PDR. The study focuses on assessing the benefits for Lao PDR of joining the STLT, the compatibility of its law and practice with the STLT provisions, and the steps necessary to prepare for accession.
