‘Creativity and IP in Georgian schools’ closing event

On 3 June 2021 we will present the results of the ‘Creativity and IP in Georgian schools’ activity and the lessons learned for the next academic year. During the event, which will officially bring the activity to an end, we will also celebrate the achievements of the students and pupils involved. Representatives of the Georgian Ministry of Education, who have supported the initiative since its inception, will be in attendance.

‘Creativity and IP in Georgian schools’ is a pilot project started on 29 September 2020 that aims to help teachers and pupils become familiar with IP-related topics. It is a joint project between the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) and the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (Sakpatenti).

The Ideaspowered@school initiative helped produce learning materials in Georgian and make them available to teachers and pupils. Selected teachers attended a cycle of seminars and were provided with materials, tools and teaching methods to train their pupils on intellectual property matters.

During the last week of April EUGIPP and Sakpatenti also held a series of events to celebrate World IP Day. The objective was to raise awareness of intellectual property and to encourage creativity among school pupils through various activities, held at selected schools in the Georgian cities of Tbilisi and Gori.

All of the materials produced during this activity are available on the EUGIPP website. The activity is financed by the EUGIPP under its commitment to provide support to Sakpatenti.
