Creativity and IP in Georgian Schools
The activity ‘Creativity and IP in Georgian Schools’ aims to integrate intellectual property (IP) into Georgian schools’ curricula. Targeted schools will be provided with appropriate learning methods and materials to be able to understand and recognise the importance of intellectual property.
This ambitious initiative is a pilot project which will work in selected schools in the Georgian cities of Tbilisi, Gori and Rustavi, enabling teachers to become familiar with IP-related topics. Moreover, with the support of the Ideaspowered@school initiative, learning materials in Georgian will also be produced and made available to teachers and trainers.
The activity officially kicked off on 29 September 2020 with a launch event attended by the Georgian Deputy Minister of Education, the Chairperson of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia (Sakpatenti), as well as teachers, trainers from Sakpatenti and other relevant stakeholders.
‘Creativity and IP in Georgian Schools’, which will run throughout this next academic year, is financed by the EU-Georgian Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) aimed at supporting Sakptatenti.
