Georgian representatives participate in the IP Case Law Conference
On 15 and 16 October, the EUIPO Boards of Appeal organised the biennial IP Case-Law Conference 2020. Selected judges, IP attorneys and more than 20 Sakpatenti officials attended this online event. As it was in English, the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) provided interpretation services so that Georgian representatives could listen to and interact with speakers in their own language.
Leading intellectual property experts from around the globe represented a broad spectrum of professional interests. Users of the international IP systems, practitioners, judges from national jurisdictions and from the General Court as well as representatives from national offices gathered to discuss the latest developments in IP case-law.
The EUGIPP aims to provide adequate and effective protection and enforcement of IP rights in Georgia. The official start date of the project was 1 January 2020 and it will run for 3 years.
