From Korea to Europe: Practical overview of the European IP system and the benefits for Korean companies
The EU‑RoK IP Action, an EU funded project implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), organised two online seminars to introduce the European IP System to Korean businesses, in collaboration with the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (GCCEI) of the Korean Ministry of SMEs.
The seminars addressed Korean SMEs and start-ups of the Consumer Goods sector and the Technology sector, interested in entering or expanding in the European market, providing a practical introduction to the main European IP protection routes and highlighted key considerations for Korean businesses seeking to protect and manage their intellectual property in Europe.
The seminars helped to raise awareness of the European IP framework, advised about common challenges faced by Korean users, and supported more informed and strategic use of IP in the context of international business expansion.
