IP Briefing Sessions for EU SMEs Expanding to Korea – Digital Solutions

The EU–RoK IP Action has continued working closely with the EU Business Hub programme to help selected EU SMEs and startups in the digital industry or related sectors (AX, electronics, advanced mobility, robotics, Web 3.0/XR) prepare for expanding into the South Korean market, with a strong emphasis on cross‑border IP protection and commercialization.

The session offered hands‑on advice on building effective IP strategies, covering protection, licensing, and enforcement, while also examining Korea’s regulatory framework and the specific challenges related to high‑tech intellectual property. Specialists presented industry‑focused case studies to highlight best practices and potential risks, equipping participants with the insights needed to safeguard their technologies and strengthen their competitive position.

By raising IP awareness, the initiative helped SMEs reduce exposure to potential risks and better seize business opportunities in Korea. It further underscored the EU–RoK IP Action’s dedication to supporting EU companies in addressing cross‑border IP issues and fostering stronger EU–Korea business cooperation.
