Dominican Republic joins DesignView
As of Monday 8 June 2026, the National Office for Industrial Property of the Dominican Republic (ONAPI) has made its industrial design data available through the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) DesignView search tool.
With the addition of more than 650 industrial designs from the ONAPI, DesignView now provides access to information on over 24.6 million industrial designs from 77 participating intellectual property offices.
Since its launch on 19 November 2012, DesignView has been used for more than 11.3 million searches by users worldwide, with the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom being among the most frequent visitors.
The EUIPO has long promoted free and high-quality intellectual property data to support transparency and improve access to information. The integration of ONAPI’s design data into DesignView reflects the EUIPO’s continued cooperation efforts in the Caribbean and its commitment to strengthening collaboration with intellectual property offices in the region. This initiative has also been supported through the EU-funded intellectual property cooperation project ‘CarIPI’.
