Webinar Protecting Trade Marks, Designs and Patents in the EU & Japan

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), under the EU-Japan IP Action, held a webinar ‘IP Basics: Protecting Trade Marks, Designs and Patents in the EU and Japan’, on 22 April 2026. The session provided an overview of key IP rights and asset management practices in both jurisdictions. Experts from the EUIPO and JETRO delivered comparative guidance aimed at SMEs and innovators operating across EU and Japanese markets, underscoring the relevance of effective cross‑border protection within the framework of the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement. Participants received practical advice on registration, enforcement and strategy development.
