The EU Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) supports Sakpatenti in obtaining the ISO 9001 certification
The National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (Sakpatenti) has recently obtained the ISO 9001 quality management system certification with the support of the EU Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP).
Building on previous efforts initiated to obtain the certification, EUGIPP accompanied Sakpatenti throughout the process of preparing the gap analysis, identifying and adopting quality management system procedures and drafting the relevant documentation.
A quality management system (QMS) is a key instrument that helps organisations operate more effectively. ISO 9001 is a standard certification that demonstrates the ability of an organisation to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
This certification will help Sakpatenti improve its intellectual property rights (IPR) services, facilitating the production and commercialisation of innovative and creative products between the EU and Georgia.
This achievement moves Georgia a step forward in its efforts to further approximate to European standards and integrate into the global economy, stimulating economic development and market opportunities.
The EUGIPP celebrates this important project milestone and looks forward to supporting Sakpatenti in complying with the next steps of the ISO 9001 procedures for an efficient quality management system.
