Webinar Supporting EU SMEs IP Expansion in Japan through EUIPO Tools
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), under the EU-Japan IP Action, held the webinar “Supporting EU SMEs IP Expansion in Japan through EUIPO Tools” on 26 March, offering participants a comprehensive introduction to the SME Fund, a European Commission grant scheme implemented by the EUIPO and running from 2 February to 4 December 2026. The session provided practical guidance on the available vouchers and reimbursement mechanisms designed to help EU-based SMEs protect their intellectual property rights when entering new markets, defending existing assets or developing an IP strategy from the ground up. Tailored for SMEs, startups expanding into EU or Japanese markets, and IP and legal professionals, the activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of EU businesses to navigate cross‑border IP systems effectively within the framework of EU–Japan cooperation.
