TAIEX-INTPA Regional Workshop on UPOV based Plant Variety Protection for the Caribbean region

On 16 November, CarIPI collaborated with the European Commission (TAIEX), the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) and the Commerce and Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to host a regional workshop.  The workshop provided information on the principles of plant variety protection (PVP) applications, the procedure, and the maintenance of plant variety rights. It presented a plant variety right system for the officials of local authorities, including the Ministries of Agriculture, Commerce and Justice, or any institutions dealing with intellectual property rights.

This regional workshop also promoted activities, carried out by the CarIPI project as part of its Annual Work Plan, assisting the implementation of Plant Variety Rights Registration Frameworks.
