High level event on the Hague Agreement in Suriname

On 15 May 2023, the CARIFORUM Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation (CarIPI) project and the Intellectual Property Office of Suriname organised a high level event in Paramaribo, Suriname to present the Hague Agreement to protect national and international designs.

Stakeholders and authorities from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation participated in the event, which also served to officially launch the Hague guide developed by CarIPI for Surinamese businesses. The aim of this guide is to provide designers and entrepreneurs in Suriname with a clear understanding of the Hague System and its many benefits.

This event is part of activity 12 of CarIPI’s fourth Annual Work Plan, International IP Treaties: promotion, training, legal gap studies and publications.
