Participation in seminar on the use of geographical indications in the MERCOSUR market
AL-INVEST Verde IPR will participate in a seminar on geographical indications (GIs) in MERCOSUR countries, organised by the IP Key Latin America cooperation project. The main objective of the participation is to announce the launch of the first phase of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR mentoring programme, ALINVmentor I.
During the 2-day event, AL-INVEST Verde IPR will participate in a panel about cooperation activities to promote geographical indications, during which the AL-INVEST Verde IPR mentorship program for GIs in MERCOSUR countries, the ALINVmentor programme, will be anounced.
ALINVmentor I is the first of a series of mentoring programmes to promote the use and development of intellectual property rights , especially GIs and trade marks. The programme will operate primarily in the MERCOSUR countries, focusing on regions and products that are critical to regional and EU trade and environment policies, such as the Amazon forest and the Gran Chaco biome, and will include products such as coffee and cocoa. While the focus will be on agricultural products, it may also include artisanal or manufactured products.
