Partners

The main SCOPE IPR partners are the 10 ASEAN Member States’ (AMS) IP offices and the ASEAN Secretariat.

The project is in constant consultation with key stakeholders in the region, such as the EU Delegation to Thailand, the EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, the EU Delegation to ASEAN, other ASEAN dialogue partners and other entities, such as the World Intellectual Property Organization and European Chambers of Commerce in AMS.

IP Mediation Seminar

Exploring Mediation as a Tool for IP Dispute Resolution in Southeast Asia

Held on 24 March 2025, the IP Mediation Seminar brought together intellectual property professionals, business representatives and policymakers from across Southeast Asia to explore how mediation can serve as an effective and efficient alternative to litigation in resolving IP disputes.

Support to ANIEE in Raising Awareness on IP Rights Infringements

This activity focuses on promoting the battle against counterfeit goods and strengthening coordination among AMS by sharing best practices. It includes supporting the ASEAN Network of IPR Enforcement Experts (ANIEE) in developing and launching a new communication campaign to raise public awareness about IP rights infringements, with a strategic framework for ASEAN in 2024-2025.

ASEAN IT Consultation Meeting

This activity focuses on discussing the future and sustainability of ASEAN IT tools with relevant AMS, including potential work in areas like data quality and cybersecurity.

Supporting the ASEAN IPR Action Plan’s Strategic Goal 1, to strengthen IP offices and build a robust IP infrastructure, this meeting aims to enhance the ASEAN IP system through improved IT solutions and strategic collaboration.

Social Media Campaign on the Importance of IP Rights

This activity will implement a social media campaign to emphasise the crucial role of IP rights in ASEAN’s economic development. The campaign will aim to raise awareness about the risks of IP infringements for businesses, especially micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, as well as consumers and the public. It will also highlight the benefits of IP protection to encourage more IP registrations.

Publication of an ASEAN Handbook on IP Rights in the Digital World

This activity supports the development and publication of an ASEAN Handbook on IP Rights, created jointly with ASEAN IP offices and ASEC. The handbook will address IP rights in the digital realm, providing valuable guidance and resources.

This initiative aims to support the ASEAN IPR Action Plan’s strategic goals to expand and enhance the inclusiveness of the ASEAN IP ecosystem.

Women and IP – Accelerating Innovation and Creativity

This activity aims to develop an ASEAN IP office strategy that addresses gender disparities and promotes the active participation of women in the IP sector. It seeks to identify solutions and initiatives to enhance women’s roles in innovation and creativity within the ASEAN region.

Supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, this initiative strives to ensure equal opportunities and foster a more inclusive IP environment.

Participation in IP Events

This activity focuses on SCOPE IPR’s participation in major IP events across the ASEAN region and work with other stakeholders. The goal is to enhance visibility for the work of AMS, the AWGIPC and the EU, showcasing how IP can drive socio-economic development in the region.
