The EUIPO Hosted International Conference on Geographical Indications

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in collaboration with the European Commission, hosted the international conference ‘Safeguarding Our Heritage, Cultivating Our Future’ on 28-29 January 2025. This hybrid event, held in Alicante, Spain, and online, brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, intellectual property (IP) experts, and producers, to discuss the important role of Geographical Indications (GIs) in driving innovation, economic growth, and cultural preservation.

EUIPO Supports Ukraine in Preparing for EU IP Law Compliance

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) supports Ukraine's accession negotiations by assisting Ukrainian authorities prepare for the screening on the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with Chapter 7 of the EU acquis on Intellectual Property (IP) Law. Joining the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities, the EUIPO provided expertise during a mock session on 25-26 September 2024, which was a simulation of the bilateral meeting between Ukrainian negotiators and the European Commission (EC) scheduled for December this year.

Roundtable Workshop on the Collective Management of Copyrights

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), through the EU4IP cooperation project and the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI), in coordination with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, organised a Roundtable Workshop on the Collective Management of Copyrights in the Republic of Moldova.

EUIPO-CPVO Conference on IP innovation and sustainability

In light of the 30th anniversary of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the anniversary of the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO), a joint EUIPO/CPVO conference was organized at the EUIPO premises and online. The conference ’30 years providing incentives for innovation – Celebrating Intellectual Property Together’ aims to support the innovation and growth of the European economy with a particular emphasis on plant variety rights.

Support for the implementation of Software Package registration service system in AGEPI

This activity is addressed to support AGEPI in the integration of the EUIPN tool Front Office software package that allows end users from IP Offices to submit electronic applications and other requests related to trade mark and design procedures such as:

  • e-filing for trade marks and designs;
  • renewals;
  • oppositions, cancellations, invalidities, etc.;
  • transfer of rights, changes to registered trade mark and designs, licences, withdrawals, etc.;
  • other generic electronic requests.
