In fact, it will improve the awareness among IPR users, enforcement practitioners and national media of the importance and value of IP, as well as the negative effects and risks related to counterfeiting and piracy.

Effective protection of plant variety rights (PVR) is vital to stimulate innovation, enhance seed quality and ensure fair competition in the agricultural sector. Ukraine already operates one of the more developed PVR systems in the region, but technical harmonisation and closer cooperation with EU counterparts remain essential to ensure full interoperability.

A robust and credible plant variety protection (PVR) system is a cornerstone of innovation in agriculture. It encourages breeders to invest in new varieties and supports the competitiveness of the agri-food and seed sectors. In Moldova, the system is well established in law but remains under-used and administratively fragmented. Strengthening quality assurance mechanisms and ensuring impartiality in testing and registration are key to improving confidence and uptake.

Under the EU–Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), Armenia is committed to approximating its legal and institutional frameworks with EU standards, including in the field of IP and Geographical Indications (GIs). The national legal framework on GIs in Armenia provides a basis for registration and protection, but further alignment with EU practices is needed to enhance interoperability and support Armenian producers in accessing EU markets.
