Intellectual Property Rights in Georgia Strengthened by EU support

The EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) will come to an end in June 2023. On that occasion, a closure event took place in Tbilisi on 4 May 2023, in view to discuss achievements, assess results, and focus on future opportunities for cooperation.

This project, implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), has been working closely with Sakpatenti (the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia) and other stakeholders on diverse lines of action to achieve the following results:

EUIPO delegation to meet with Georgian enforcement authorities

On 5 May 2023, the management teams of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) will meet with representatives of Georgian enforcement authorities. They will discuss the main project outcomes under the component dedicated to intellectual property (IP) rights enforcement.

Sakpatenti presents IP case-law compilation to Georgian High School of Justice

Drafted under activity 13 of the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) 2022 annual work plan, the intellectual property (IP) case-law compilation will be presented at the Georgian High School of Justice on 3 May 2023.

The case-law compilation was developed over recent months thanks to the joint efforts of the European Union Intellectual Property Office’s Legal Department and Boards of Appeal, together with legal experts from the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia — Sakpatenti.
