IP in School Project: Train the Trainer Workshops
From 27 to 28 November 2023, the CARIFORUM Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation project organised a webinar series of ‘train the trainer’ courses for primary and secondary school teachers from Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Education experts introduced CarIPI’s IP in Education project. The sessions included an overview of materials created by the EUIPO and pedagogical methodologies to educate students on intellectual property.
The ‘Introducing IP in school curriculum’ used is expected to reinforce the positive perception of how IP rights can be used to generate value and improve livelihoods in all sectors of the economy.
This activity is part of CarIPI’s AWP4, ‘Creativity and IP in Schools Project- Part II’, which aims to develop a regional strategy to implement the programme developed under AWP3, and train CARIFORUM teachers.
