EUGIPP second annual work plan approved
The EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) Steering Committee (PSC) approved, on a no-objection basis, the second annual work plan covering the period January-December 2021 (AWP 2021).
The AWP 2021 takes into account the feedback collected through stakeholder consultations. It is built upon the activities implemented in 2020 and puts forward new actions in line with the project objectives. In particular, the AWP 2021 will continue to provide resources for capacity building, to support convergence actions towards the EU Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN) practices, as well as to promote the alignment of Georgian legislation on IPRs to EU standards.
Moreover, the project will support the use of appropriate tools to favour efficient registration procedures and promote actions which will contribute to reduce the risk of IPR infringements. Specific activities will raise awareness on IPRs across the Georgian business community, especially SMEs.
The project’s main beneficiary is the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (Sakpatenti). Its official start date was 1 January 2020 and runs for three years.
