Study on economic impact of counterfeiting and piracy in Georgia

Based on the necessity of assessing the current impact of counterfeiting and piracy in Georgia, a study will be carried out to analyse the necessity of strengthening IPR enforcement measures, especially in the fields of counterfeiting, e-commerce and (online) piracy.

The study will be aimed at understanding the influence of counterfeiting and piracy on the Georgian economy and in particular on the consequences to businesses and consumers. It will focus on the existing enforcement measures in order to assess their long-term viability and effectiveness.

Based on the outcome of the assessment, specific follow-up measures may be proposed to the legislator in order to improve the legislative framework in the field of protection against counterfeiting and piracy.
