Standardisation and codification of the Statute of the Chamber of Appeals at Sakpatenti

This activity aims to enhance the role of the Chamber of Appeals at Sakpatenti creating consistency in the decisions taken by the authority, increasing legal certainty and forging an effective and comprehensive IP system.

This exercise will entail a set of initiatives to share experiences and best practices among peers to better understand the related regulations, corporate governance and competences, working methods on appeal proceedings, use of standardised documentation and/or IT processes, among others, with the ultimate objective of converging practices.

Additionally, a gap analysis on the Statute of the Chamber of Appeals at Sakpatenti and the Boards of Appeal of the EUIPO will assess the respective governing rules in view of providing recommendations for further alignment.
