Development of trade mark guidelines for examiners: convergence of practices in line with EU legislation

Specific trade mark guidelines will be developed for the practical use of both the Sakpatenti staff in charge of the various procedures and users. The purpose of the guidelines is to ensure consistency between decisions taken by Sakpatenti and to guarantee a coherent practice in file handling.

The guidelines will be tailored to the Georgian reality and written in Georgian. The underlying objective will be to apply common practices in line with the European standards. The use of these guidelines will enhance the administrative frameworks for protecting intellectual property rights (IPRs) in Georgia and improve the quality of IPR administration services.
