Solidarity with the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba, and extension of deadlines following Hurricane Melissa
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) expresses its condolences and solidarity with the people of the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba - all partners of CarIPI - following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa.
In recognition of the serious disruption caused, the EUIPO has adopted Decision EX-25-14, extending all procedural deadlines for parties with residence or registered offices in the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba, where proceedings with the Office fall within the period 28 October to 27 November 2025.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to all those who have lost loved ones and seen their lives disrupted by Hurricane Melissa. Our solidarity during this time of grief,” said João Negrão, Executive Director of the EUIPO.
