EUIPO applauds Uruguay's National Directorate of Industrial Property unveiling of the new trade mark guidelines
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) welcomes the publication of the new Trade Mark Guidelines prepared by the National Directorate of Industrial Property (DNPI) of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay. This document brings together the updated criteria that guide decisions on various issues in the field of trade marks.
The EUIPO contributed to this initiative in the framework of its collaboration with the DNPI through the EU-funded project AL-INVEST Verde IPR. This joint effort underlines the strategic partnership and shared commitment between the EUIPO and the DNPI to strengthen technical capacities and cooperation on IP for the benefit of users.

The EUIPO builds on years of experience drafting its own Guidelines for Examination of European Union trade marks which are updated on a yearly basis. These Guidelines serve as main point of reference for users of the EUTM system and professional advisers who want to ensure they have the latest information on EUIPO examination practices.
