Solidarity with Japan after Kumamoto Prefecture earthquake
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) expresses its deepest condolences following the devastating impact of the earthquake in Kumamoto, Japan.
Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and their loved ones.
The EUIPO has adopted Decision No EX-26-13, extending all procedural deadlines for parties in Japan, where proceedings before the Office fall within the affected period.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic consequences and loss of life caused by the earthquake in Japan. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and their loved ones. At the EUIPO, we stand in solidarity with the people of Japan during this difficult time,” said João Negrão, Executive Director of the EUIPO.
